Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do, so throw off the bowlines, sail away from safe harbour, catch the trade winds in your sails.  Explore, Dream, Discover. –Mark Twain

Dear Loneliness

Photo Challenge: Solitude

Dear Loneliness

The screams of your silence intertwine with my dark nights

The rhythm of your harsh whisper breaks my mould and instils within me a weakness that I cannot bear.

Dear Loneliness, you capture my steady breath and replace it with a deep moaning of longing and wanting

You’ve made panic first nature and sagacity second.

You’ve shared your emptiness and filled me up with space

You’ve breathed into me a dream of emptying you out

yet fed me lies of the impossibilities.

Dear Loneliness, your lies are broken chords interrupting my life’s song

You had me humming to your tune of bitterness, pain, and hopelessness

All of you and less of me, you demanded…

Synthesising my thoughts, retracting my beliefs – your grandiloquence in progressions became mine…

Forced, I harmonised with your dissipated ideals.

Dear Loneliness, Time spent with you is expensive.

Stop stealing from me!

Breaking the piggy bank and taking the gold I had once gained as I levelled up on boldness

You spend my time without my consent and leave me with the bill,

checking out every valuable thought I had once stored leaving me with every part of your inanition.

Dear Loneliness, you make me to forget who I truly am….

Once the face of solitude, now the comportment of nothingness.

Dear Loneliness, I write this to remind you of who I once was and the inevitability of my return!

Dear Solitude it’s time to make a comeback.

Let’s write this sequel to my life’s song.

Let’s write over this track of silence and fill the atmosphere with vocals of you.

Dear Solitude, there’s no time like the present to rid me of this amnesia, orchestrate a greater power and fill my mind with a whirlwind of your strength, pluck the strings of my heart to the beat of your boisterous confidence.

Take the lead and I’ll follow, and as we meander through life’s song, teach me to ad-lib over every line that loneliness tries to sing.

So that at the end of it all…

…At the end of it all your song remains the loudest.

Dear Reader, Loneliness & Solitudes volumes are the same, but their melody and words are apart.

Tuning into Solitude’s song is sweeter on the ears and strengthening for life. Tuning into Loneliness’s song quietens your acumen and reduces you to weaknesses beyond your wildest imagination.

Dear Reader, choose today whom you’ll sing your life’s song with…

Love, Live, Learn and Fly Higher.
